The SMT classic conversations (audio only)
Welcome to a slightly different podcast today.
So since the launch of the SMT podcast last year I’ve gained many new listeners and specifically a large amount from India and other countries.
With that in mind I knew I had some great conversations from a previous podcast I used to have called, The British Asian Podcast.
So, I thought it would be nice to share these again from time to time labelled as the SMT CLASSICS.
The first of these is a podcast I recorded in 2016
with the legendary U.K. bhangra band, Achanak who at the time were about to release their first album in very long time called Game, Set and Nach.
Although we spoke about the album it was also a great conversion about the genesis of one of the greatest bhangra bands ever to hit scene.
Joining me on the podcast was Ninder Johal, Vijay Achanak and Ammo Johal.
I hope you enjoy.

This week on the show is Don D Marley. Known for his reggae vibes on Asian Pop Classic ‘Nahin Jeena’ and his combination of roots music and Bollywood in the 2Kool album with Rishi Rich.
Don D grew up in North West London and was always influenced by the multicultural backgrounds around him. He spent most of his childhood listening to old school reggae classics such as Capelton, Sizzla, Buju Banton and Yellow Man.
Don D has featured on many songs throughout his 20-year career from Bollywood to Bhangra.
